Ames Junior Chamber Weekly Update – January 13

Published by under Weekly Newsletter

Happy Tuesday Ames Jaycees!

Here what’s going on this week:

NOTHING!! That’s right! For the first time in Jaycee history, the Ames Jaycees have no official events scheduled for an ENTIRE WEEK!! NADA!!!

So, everyone can do laundry, catch up on the TiVo, and make snow angels…

While you are freezing your gibs and giblets, start thinking about joining one of our summer project committees. Ames on the Half Shell and Fireworks both need your help and input. Watch for meeting announcements in your weekly update emails, and on our website (www.amesjaycees.com) Or, take the bull by the horns and contact any board member to sign up!

Keep warm!

Ames Junior Chamber Weekly Update – January 5

Published by under Weekly Newsletter

Happy New Year Ames Jaycees!
Here is your update for the week of January 5th:
1. Membership Meeting – Thursday, January 8th – 7pm – Elk’s Lodge (622 Douglas Ave, across from the Ames Public Library) – Please plan on attending this meeting to approve our 2009 budget, hear about ByLaw changes, and see the 2009 board in action!

2. Think Tank Team Meeting – Thursday, January 8th – 8pm – Elk’s Lodge – Many years ago the chapter had a fundraising committee to address non-management related income. This is the 2009 version, with a leaner, meaner attitude towards completing Ada Hayden, funding fireworks, and looking to the future.

3. Year End Banquet – Saturday, January 10th – Elk’s Lodge – 5:30PM Social, 6:30PM potluck. Cost is $5 per person. Please contact Kelly Michalone at 651.470.9029 or email at kellymicalone@gmail.com if you didn’t get the evite!

Andy’s Google-Proof Questions of the Week:

‘In the George Lucas movie American Grafitti, what style of carberators were on John’s 5 window coupe?’

(or for those who like chick flicks)

‘What kind of shoes is Meg Ryan wearing in the final scenes of ‘Sleepless in Seattle’?’
